Applications for the 2025 cycle for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science UK and Ireland Young Talent Awards are now open!

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science UK and Ireland Young Talent Awards is an annual programme that awards grants worth £25,000 (equivalent € for candidates in Ireland) to five outstanding early-career women scientists in the fields of Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, Physical Sciences and Sustainable Development.

The grants are designed to provide flexible and practical financial support to enable these women scientists to further their research and careers. In addition to the grant, fellows receive training and networking opportunities supported by L’Oréal. The programme is run in partnership between L’Oréal UK and Ireland, the UK National Commission for UNESCO and the Irish National Commission for UNESCO, with the support of the Royal Society.

Candidates can apply here via the online portal. The application deadline is Wednesday, 20 August at 23:59 BST.

Promoting the Opportunity to Women Scientists

The awards are applicable to all early-career women scientists with no more than 10 years’ active full-time equivalent postdoctoral experience. With your support, we aim to encourage as many women scientists across the UK and Ireland as possible to apply for the award.

We particularly want to engage with researchers in the following fields:

  • Computer Science,
  • Mathematics, and
  • Sustainable Development
