Education:  Database of examiners

Posted: Wednesday 15 February 2006

Another innovation, jointly with the Heads of Departments of Anatomy, is establishment of a database of British and Irish academics qualified to act as external examiners in anatomical subjects...

This should help departments needing to find an examiner appropriate for a particular course. While the "traditional" subjects taught by anatomists are included (medical, dental and veterinary anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroanatomy) it is likely to be particularly useful to locate people whose experience in teaching and examining crosses disciplines in the style of many of the new medical curricula. For the time being the database will not be publicly accessible for reasons of confidentiality and those wishing to extract information should contact the Education Officer Dr Steve McHanwell (Stephen.McHanwell@newcastle.ac.uk) or Professor Bernard Moxham (moxham@cardiff.ac.uk) representing the Heads of Departments.
