This is awarded annually at the Winter Meeting of the Society to the best communication by a candidate who must have carried out the work described while an undergraduate. For further information contact the

8. Undergraduate Prize
a) The Prize will be awarded for a paper or papers presented orally at the Scientific Meeting associated with the Annual General Meeting of the Society. It must be read and not given as a demonstration.
b) The work presented shall have been performed as an undergraduate. In order to qualify for the Prize the work must be presented at the Scientific Meeting associated with the Annual General Meeting following the granting of the first degree.
c) Appropriate assessors, three in number, shall be appointed by the Prize Committee; these shall attend the presentation and make recommendations for the award.
d) Undergraduate/Postgraduate Membership of the Society is not a prerequisite for an award.
e) Students wishing to enter for the Prize must make their intentions known not later than the time of submitting the abstract, which will also be considered in the final assessment of their work.
f) A supporting statement must be submitted by the Supervisor who has been most concerned with the work of the student.
g) The student must be the principal (first) author of the submitted abstract, and it shall be made clear in the programme book for the meeting the relationship of any co-author to the principal author (e.g. supervisor, collaborator).
